Young People

The Youth work at Immanuel comes under the banner of ‘The Lighthouse’. This covers our Sunday morning group: ’The Sunday Lighthouse’, and our youth groups, ‘Beacons’ on Wednesday evenings and ‘Lasers’ on Sunday evenings.

Wednesday night youth groups are run during term time.

Come and join us for fun, games and activities!

Sunday Lighthouse

This is the name of the children’s work on Sundays outside the service.

We meet with Creche’ for children aged under 4. There are lots of toys out for the children to play with, and they have a more informal session.

The older children meet separately in our back halls. Recently we have been working through Urban Saints material with both groups which include looking at the Bible and doing games and a craft activity. The older group are encouraged to bring their own Bibles while we look at passages and read out loud and study them together.

We encourage over 14yr olds to stay in the service.

Beacons

Beacons is a Children’s club run for ages 7-12yr old. We meet each Wednesday nights during term time from 6-7.30pm.

From pizza making, parachute games and film nights we do it all.

During the year we also do trips out which have included going to the beach, local park and bowling.

During some evenings we share a short Bible devotion which brings up some great thought-provoking discussions.

A parent said:

"It is such a comfort to us that my child has the opportunity to have fun and make friends in a group that loves God."

Lasers

Every fortnight on a Sunday evening, this is a gathering for Immanuel's church youth. Time is spent socialising, playing games and studying the Bible together.
