Mission at Immanuel

Alongside our youth and community work at Immanuel we support twelve different charitable causes each year, focusing our prayer and giving on one each month.

May: Christian Aid

Through the Commitment to Life programme we support projects in Israel and Palestine including agricultural, health and empowerment (esp. for women and children)

June: Open Doors

July: Crossteach / PACE

August: Leprosy Mission

September: Hope in the Community Bournemouth

A registered charity established to provide an umbrella of support for faith and voluntary sector groups who are seeking to regenerate the communities within which they serve.

Locally, this works to address social isolation and loneliness.

October: Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child

Christmas gifts in shoeboxes for disadvantaged children in Eastern Europe and Africa.

November: Tear Fund

Christian international aid and development agency working globally to end poverty and injustice, and to restore dignity and hope in some of the world’s poorest communities

December: Local Charity (Bournemouth Town)

Each Christmas we decide on a local charity to support with monetary and practical gifts

CrossTeach work with local Christian communities to enable young people in schools to critically engage with the Christian faith in a fun and relevant way.

January: Bible Society

Bible Society exists to offer the Bible to the World. The Bible Society make Scriptures available where there are none. They work to help the church engage with the Bible more effectively, and endeavour – through the arts, education, media and politics - to make the Bible available, accessible and credible in our culture.

February: An African Dream

An African Dream exists to educate, equip and transform the community of East Kasese.It supports several projects in the Kasese district in Western Uganda, including St Mark’s Primary School. It also provides sustainable micro-enterprise opportunities for the local community and supports the training of local church pastors. http://www.aaduganda.org/

April: Local School Support & Moorlands

Dorset based work with vulnerable adults and elderly - providing a range of professional home care services to local individuals.

We work in close partnership with Pramacare, having a worker based at Immanuel.

An international development charity that works to transform the lives of people affected by leprosy in around 30 countries across Africa, South Asia and East Asia

Supplying Bibles, training church leaders, delivering Scripture-based literacy programmes and supporting Christians who suffer for their faith

Monetary gifts for Christian books to support RE classes in three local schools

Local Bible College Moorlands exists to equip people, passionate about Jesus Christ, to impact the Church and the world.

The church provides placements for several students each year

PACE is a Christian schools work charity partnering with local churches to provide excellent learning opportunities in schools so that every student can ask their biggest questions, explore the Christian faith and investigate the life and claims of Jesus.
